BECOME AN APSCREEN MEMBER

APSCREEN is first and foremost a Consumer Reporting Agency.  Our primary purpose is to protect the consumer's privacy and ensure that the information services we make available are provided to legitimate end users.

The three major credit bureaus from whom we proudly resell information, have stringent requirements in order to absolutely ensure that we provide service only to those who are entitled to receive it.  In addition, they must have an understanding of the security requirements and  the related laws.

As a result, certain requirements are made of all new end users which are described in the forms provided on this website.

Please click on each item below, print them, and be sure to carefully review each one.  They must be completed, signed where applicable, and returned to us by fax or mail, at which point we will promptly get your membership process started.

Thank you for understanding.  It is processes like this that ensure compliance with the law and protection of the privacy of the consumer.

Who May Become a Member of a Consumer Reporting Agency?

Under the rules of the credit bureaus and the laws affecting Consumer Reports which are the actual services that we purvey, certain businesses and industries are excluded from membership.

Instead of identifying those non-qualified end-users, APSCREEN has elected to identify the types of customers that we will provide service to.

They are:

In Our Tenant Screening Division:

Professional Property Managers engaged in the active daily profession of managing properties for others under contract.

Professional Asset Managers engaged in the oversight and/or management of properties held institutionally.

Private Landlords engaged in the active management of their own investment properties.

Licensed Real Estate Professionals engaged in the active business of managing property.

APSCREEN's General Membership Guidelines

In all cases, APSCREEN adheres to the membership principals, policies and guidelines of the three major credit reporting Agencies, EXPERIAN, TRANSUNION, and EQUIFAX, of whom we are Certified Resellers for.

Simply put, while these guidelines are strict, they insure compliance with the law, and ensure the privacy of the Consumer being inquired upon. Contrary to popular belief, public records are actually controlled, as well, under the Privacy statutes, insofar as their use in the employment setting is concerned, so eliminating credit products does not excuse either a provider or an end-user from compliance.

Believe us when we tell you that PRIVACY has become one of the most regulated areas in U.S. history, and for good reason.  With Identity Theft, the fastest-growing crime in history, continuing to escalate at an alarming rate, none of us in the Consumer Reporting world, and especially YOU in the "end-user" world, can be too careful.

We require the following of all Subscribers:

Physical Inspections of your place of business.
    Acknowledgement of Access Security Requirements
Compliance with all applicable laws - FACTA, FCRA, G-L-B*
Open Door Audit Policy of your use of our reports
Written Consent must always be obtained from the consumer
Standing Authorization as concerns locating missing employees

*(See the Links on this site for access to the full text of these laws by clicking here)
